What is the widest possible beach handle bars or for that matter any other bar you can install on a 2009 Roadking? My local HD mechanic told me that you cannot go wider than the beach handle bars sold by HD which is 35.5" wide, due to a new wiring system. Does anybody have the same experience?
I just put the chubby wo550 bars on mine and love them.
WO550: Width 36.5", end rise 3.5", center width 10.0", pullback 15.25".
I got the bars, s/s braided clutch cable, s/s braided brake line (abs) and the wire extensions from hdbikeparts (Johnny Vaughn) shipped to Texas for right at 500.00.

Looks fantastic, man. I'm going to do either those or the Burly bars on mine one of these days.
I have long legs so on the really tight slow speed stuff i either get the knee out or slide the foot way back on the floor boards. Normal riding it handles great. The stock bars I could only hold on for about a half hour before I had to start going one-handed.
I have done about 5k miles on them including the Dragon and lots of highway. I personally love them
