I put one on my '08 and only used it in my own garage, for reasons I don't want to get into. It ain't safe in there either.

I do not have one on my '09.

I have encountered similar unstability. I have taken the stand off and re-intalled ensuring that I have torx'd the bolts according to spec. When I did this, I found that the stand was stable in my garage (Flat surface) - but after a few rides when I park in my garage in the same spot it starts to get unstable.

it is a great product but.... be very careful when servicing it doesnt take much to pop it off the stand ive done it twice second time i had left the sidestand down and it caught itself not so licky the first time. now i use a velcro strapp on the front brake when cleaning or servicing.
