On my 09 SG, the brake light, turn signals (with red lens) and the lower running light go ON when I brake. I like safety.

Regarding the '10 bulbs being brigher, I am not sure. Has anyone compared the rear turn signal bulb part numbers between the two years? I have a feeling they are the same...

The bulbs are the same. 1157's.

But! The housing is completely different. The '10 bikes have a housing that is shaped similar to a headlight, focusing the light. It really is bright.

Hear is an option by not that cheap. You can use a FBI direct replacement fender painted and shipped for around $1,200.

For $1,200? No thanks, but their chrome tailight and licence plate assembly look good and adds another big red light to the equation.

Just buy the 2010, its that good.
Change is always hard to get used to.
It will be the standard lighting soon.
The bulb reflectors are much better, for 2010.

cars have two brake lights (or three), I guess it's time for bikes to have two brakes lights as well. Looking at mine tonight from a distance, the two brake lights on the 2010 is definitely brighter than a single brake light in the center... and if a bulb burns out, you've got one more, which is better than none more.

I installed $10 LED bulbs from Autozone because I switched to smoked lens. I rode the other night with a group, and everyone commented on how bright my tail lights were. Thats something you might look into if you don't think the stockers are bright enough,.. but don't say anything untill you see them in person because in my opinion the 2 they have now, are a hell of a lot brighter then the 1 stock from 09 and older. The only thing that kinda bugs me,.. the lights on the fender extension and the 2 bulbs up top... it looks like a smiley face going down the road at night if your following me.

thought about that when I put the tri bar brake/running lite on my 10SG. If I go with MOCO LEDS on the saddlebags It'll be a smiley face with eyebrows..
