I know alot feel this way but what about the cross traffic? I think the question is does it hurt the clutch to put it in neutral. I don't think so since the disk and plates are engaged and not slipping. Does it hurt the transmission by the extra shifting, maybe, I had the shifter return spring break and go down thru the gears once. I personally use neutral alot since I broke my left wrist and am old.

Purely rider preference but my shock is reading through some of the posts here and other places. It cracks me up how we communicate and describe things, people, you should learn the basics and learn to speak it. For example, a clutch is "disengaged" when the lever is pulled back, in other words, even in gear it won't move. Release the lever and the clutch is "engaged", if it's in gear, it's moving. From another thread, electrical "shorts" have power and blow fuses, trip breakers or burn wires. If you have no power you have an "open" condition. Ok, rant over, sorry for butting into the thread, just trying to provide some insight. Oh yeah, onle more thing, then I'll go, 35 years, 100s of thousands of miles, I've only had one clutch cable break and have only witnessed one other than mine. I believe both of them (mine for sure at the time) were poorly maintained.
