Default Leather Lowers

I just purchased a set of soft leather lowers and put them on my 2009 Road Glide this week. The instructions said not to use them above 50-degrees. I enjoy having them on in the morning when it's 40 + or -, but have been removing them for the ride home. They are easy to remove, they are just Velcro attached so it's not that big a deal.

Why is it that you can leave the hard color matched lowers on, but the leather ones have to be removed? The leather ones leave quite a large opening for air to still cool the engine.

I'm pretty sure it's "above" 50 degrees. I believe they block more air than hard lowers.

Thanks, yes, I meant to say above 50. More coffee please!

I used those on my '86 Classic back when I rode it, and I have run them when the temp was 65* or better, a lot of times. Never had any problems.

They work great in the rain also ans I have had them on well into the upper 70's without any problem, Some days it was in the 45-50 range go out in the sun 60's+ back in the valley 50...etc Then again 2 lane roads with hardly no lights, but yes overheating was on my mind..

I probably wouldn't use them
