There is nothing wrong with the 07's other than there where a boat load of whiners that bought them.
If you buy the 07 the only REAL problem that people whined about was the 5th gear tranny noise and if you change the gear lube to at least 75-110 that gets rid of most of the noise (which you can't hear unless you are riding beside something) and you can always add an IDS to the bike like all the new bikes come with.
Just turned 18,000 on my 07 and the only thing wrong is: tires wear out at 10,000, oil changes at 2500 and damn, I just had to change out the rear brake pads even though I could have gone a few thou more. Just think how much it would have cost if I had a dealer do all this stuff!
I have 10K on mine and havent had any issues with the whine or the tranny sounding like a box of rocks as was reported by many. I would be more concerned about the mileage, seems a bit high!
Mine whines in 5th ever so slightly.. but like others said it lets me know I'm in 5th... Now my ex whined really bad... got rid of her... No other issues with my 07 SG..
