Welcome and congrats with the King of the Road. You should be fine. And don't think you have the one King that happened to be the bad one in a string of good ones. That one belongs to me! Kidding. You have a good scoot there. So far, my King has treated my well with no problems over the years.
As for the rough idle you mention, it is normal when compared to other imports. However, if it still seems more than you think it should be, find someone with a similar scoot and compare.
The engine is rubber mounted for your pleasure. At idle it's a vibrator but smoothes right out under throttle. Congrats on purchasing Harley's most versatile bike, the King.
It is a new bike you have to ride it awhile before you can make a comment. For cying out loud put some miles on it first. I just don't understand how can you make comments and just rode in onece in the cold.
I do not have a Roadking, but a street glide. The shaking at idle is normal, but will smooth out after applying throttle. At highway speeds you mirrors should be clear.
Are you talking about the tranny not being smooth? If so, switching out the tranny oil out with something thicker like Redline or Spectro tranny (gear)oil. It makes a big difference.
I have an 07 RKC; gave from a custom with S&S113, baker 6. I LOVE my RKC. My custom was always in the shop. I don't miss it, and the ride of the RKC is great! I'd do it again in a heartbeat (purchase a RKC).
When I first got my bike I was like damm it shake allot must be something wrong with it after putting some miles on it I don't notice it. Ride the hell out of it & enjoy. Congrats
