Default New Road King ?

Just picked up my new King last week! Rode today, cold, and I am noticing that it is a little rough when I idle down in any gear! I ridden a VTX 1300S for a while which was extremely smooth in the tranny! My question is, Is this normal for a Road King and nothing to worry about or ? By the way, what a great ride, certainly quite a difference!

It's a Harley. It's normal. You'll get used to it. Welcome to the family and ride safe.

Went from a 1800VTX and have never looked back. It was a little strange at first but I get a woody everytime I pull up to a red light and watch it shake. Damn I'm getting a boner now just thinking about it. I love my King.

I bought a Road King a couple of weeks ago and it does the same thing but that's what I like about Harley's. Enjoy

Its a rubber mounted engine, not a counterbalanced engine. At idle, it will vibrate quite a bit. Add a little throttle and it smooths out.

Pop congrats on the new bike, your going to love it. I got a new RK about 3 weeks ago. I can't say I have had any problems, but you have to remember that the bike is very tight and not broke in yet. Put some miles on it if you can. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I love my '03 RK, they are a bit of a change to get used to but in the long run and on the long ride I would not have any other.

Word of warning:

Don't start off your life here comparing your Harley to how much better your old Honda was. Harley is an attitude and you will be over-whelmed with some attitude around here if people are thinking you're saying your old Honda was a better bike.

Just ask about the issue that concerns you. This is a great forum, with lots of great advice. But it's not a "My Honda was a better bike Forum".

Just trying to help.
