I've got about 900 miles on the new EGlide Classic and have started riding it hard. The bike is okay 0 to 60/70 mph but my first trip from 70 to 100 mph yesterday took about a mile & a half. WTF? I have owned about 14 Harleys in the last three years, big bores, 103, stage 1's and bone stock. This 06 is the biggest dog of the bunch. It has a hi flow, pipes & PC III and won't get out of it's own way...
I'm sure a few will say you don't need to do a hundred, and they are right but I'm afraid to pass a car about half the time. If they accelerate I won't be able to get around. Thought about the big bore and a cam but with the strong rumors of stock 95 inch motors next year and the local harley rep saying that performance will be the big selling point with the 07's I think I'll wait another month & see what they come up with.
Gotta say I am satisfied with my power and don't have any trouble making a pass, bike pulls real strong. Have debated further engine mods but just don't feel the need to lay out for more performance. Maybe there is a mechanical or tuning issue with your bike?
Want to go 100+....Get a Goldwing! NOBODY buys Harley for power and speed. I just traded my 2002 Wing for an 05 Harley. In some ways (power/speed) the WIng is SOOO much better. Love my UC though.
I thought the same initially too. I can say for sure that after my 1000k mile service, and inj swap, the bike acts and runs completely different. It does still heat up my leg tho on the hot days!

I gotta be honest, I did not get on it until after my 1k service. I rode her bone stock for two hundred miles, added the SEII slipons to get rid of the vacuum sound, and after 1k I switched to synth, and had all the adjustments done, and then started redlining her. I have an '03 Fatboy that screams so I had a good base of reference. My '06 UC does very well. One up riding, I can easily hit 0-60 in something like 3.9, two up is around 4.5. sixty to a hundred in another three or four seconds depending on whether one up or two. Just so you know, my wife and I together push the GVWR. I am 6'2" and 280, my wife (well I can't say exactly) is also weighs something.
Where I see a lack of performance is passing and hills. I have to kick it to third to get any real RPM and speed, so this week I am going to install a stage1, PCIII, and V&H true duals/ovals. When tuned properly I think these mods will allow me to stay in fifth or fourth and be able to pass or climb a hill better.
My wife and I routinely hit the road at 90+ MPH on the E-Glide for extended periods and do not have too much of a problem. The sweet spot right now is seventy, I can ride her all day at 70 with no problems. I can also tell you this, I can feel a lot of difference in the primary and tranny between the E-Glide and my Fatboy, it took me a few hundred miles to get used to this. This is obviously because the bike is designed for long comfortable tours, good gas mileage etc. The power band is totally different, so it may also be a rider style issue. The first time I rode the Fatboy after about two weeks of nothing but the new Glide, I was amazed at the power of the Fatboy, it kind of blew me away.
