Default hi all (iv got a question)

I am currently riding an (Yamaha YZF R6) and after having the use of my uncle’s streetglide for the week, I am looking at getting back in the cruiser thing (my first bike was a 1997 Yamaha xv535 S Virago "please don’t laugh) and am wondering.

1) What do you lot who own this particular bike think of it positive and negative feed back would be much appreciated?

I've had mine since last August with over 11000km to date. Just an absolute great everyday bike, that can also be used for long distance touring. Unique styling features, fairing/stereo are awesome, excellent performance/handling/comfort. I really can't find a negative aspect to report. It's a great base for modifications (options are unlimited), an all round, sweet looking fun bike!

I guess the real question is... what do you think of it?

i rode sportbikes for a LONG time and my last bike was a Road Star Warrior. it was btwn a Road King Classic and Street Glide for me. i went with the RKC because i could remove the windshield on hot days/short rides, cruise control, leather covered bags, white walls and the 'classic' theme.

theyre basically the same motorcycles though (mechanically) the obvious being the fairing.

Default RE: hi all (iv got a question)

Coming over from a Suzuki street bike myself (Hayabusa), I would say that any of the dressers are going to be like a Cadillac. And just as heavy. They all handle about the same. The question comes down to look and cost. I still ride agressively and I am thinking about adding a tru-trak to tighten things up a bit. On the lowered SG, I scrap ALOT (Tru-trak won't help this) I've got a street glide because I love the lowered, stripped look. Here are a list of questions I would ask myself If I were going to purchase a new FL.

Do you want the stereo and fairing? (Road King or Dresser)

Do I ever want to have Tour Pak for long rides (Over $1000 to add to a Street Glide or Electra Glide Standard)

Do you want fog light bar up front? (Does not come on the Street Glide, exspensive to add)

Would you want the lowered look. (Street Glide is the only FLT that is lowered stock, again expensive to add, again, I scrap foot beds ALOT!!!!)

Would you change the stock foot boards to the streamliner foot beds? (I really like these things and they would add up quickly to add to other tourers)

Hope this helps
