Default Ignition lock recall

I just got a recall notice from Harley to replace the ignition lock on my 06 EG. Have had no issues with mine so far, but looking forward to a good reliable replacement. For those of you who have had issues with this topic. The fix is on the way !!

Ignition lock can fail and make the forks unable to unlock. Do a search on the subject, several members have had issues with this lock.

Today I received a recall letter from the MOCO in regards to the fork lock replacement. They say it takes about an hour to repair. L

Read the recall letter carefully. Just got mine today and it states basically due to"END USER Stupidity " they feel the part needs to be replaced. HD riders are not smart eneough to lock the forks on the 06's. Even when the MOCO does the right thing by recalling the parts they still won't take the blame!! (lol)

I just got my Street Glide 3 weeks ago and the fork lock hasn't worked since I took delivery. I figured they'd fix it during my 1000 mile service. There was an actual recall?

Got my notice yesterday. They do seem to hint that the problem developed through operator error rather than design flaw.
