Wow, I was just informing the original poster that the Limited's had the same cam as the 96" bikes in case he thought they had 255's. By his original post I wasn't sure if he knew that or not, so eitherway with compression releases he was all good.

Sorry for all the confusion.

Good to see ya posting Dalton! Dynotune for me tomorrow on my build!! Wish me luck!

Yeah, the weather has turned to crap here for the last 4 weeks, winter is on our doorstep, down to 36 degrees last night and tonight, highs in the mid 40s so now I will be back on the board more. Been to busy riding to post for the most part.

No problems on the misunderstanding, hell, I confused myself !

Thanks! I feel like I know my way around my 95 TC but the newer engine configs (what H-D's been up to since about 2005,6) is a mystery to me. Not to mention I'm new to touring bikes.

Definitely appreciate all the help I can get - from all concerned. Still not clear what you were getting at concerning the cam - installed by dealer or otherwise?

ps - Dalton - that's a heck of an engine build you've got - pretty much green with envy ;-)

I was indirectly referring to the low compression the Limited's have with the stock 96" cams in them since you were inquiring about compression releases. I thought you thought they had 255's in them which would bump the compression up to the point the Limited would NEED compression releases. Nothing to do with you installing versus the dealer installing. Clear as mud yet?

Hell, forget all that. Just change out the crappy INA inner bearings with Torrington B168 bearings when you change the cams and you're golden.

Thanks!!! That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Figured I'd be well off with compression releases if I went to a 255. Also was definitely planning on the B168's based on searching this forum. It's all good!!
