Default Have SERT, thinking PC-V now

Has anyone ditched the SERT and got a PC-V? In talking to Jamie @ Fuelmoto, he's saying I should get the PC-V w/auto-tune since he's not sure what he'd be overwriting. Can I just load a canned map back on the bike, like a dealer download? Or is there a difference in the dealers download, and a canned map?

The reason I ask is:
If I have to go with the PC-V w/auto-tune, it'll end up costing me as much as getting a good Dyno tune. I'm torn; a good Dyno tune and I'm done, until I make a change then chances are I'll need another tune.

If I go with a PC-V w/Jamie, I get his expertise and future changes can be handled by him and his seemingly bottomless barrel of maps for any combo of exhaust/air, etc.

I'm not trying to question Jamie's suggestions, I just think I'm becoming a pest, sending him too many emails. Which I'm sure he gets a ton of. So I consult the thousands of happy Fuelmoto customers.

Let me know your thoughts, opinions or choices.

Thanks!

Probably should keep the Race Tuner since it is married to your bike... If it is the SERT and not the Super Tuner, I would buy a Twin Scan II+ from Daytona Twin Tec and start making my own maps. That's what I did with my 06 and 08 V-rods.

I would love to go this route also but the motorcycle mod fund is dry until next year.
I feel the same way with the SERT, each time a mod to the bike is done its back to the dyno I go.

cmashark has a great suggestion.
i might add that if you have a laptop, or know someone who does, you can create your own maps, or copy someone elses and load into your system. (just remember; you *can* over do it in some instances and create poblems).
also, ask yourself how often you plan to change your in/exh/cam (etc) set up.
i did a few times and found a sweet spot (for now) and for the last few years, i haven't changed anything. i may in the future, but the final decision for tuning came down to opportunity cost and my willingness to take chances. and of course, cash flow.
roll on

I really don't have any further interest in trying to tune this thing myself. I've loaded a map and tinkered with the CLB's and decel enleanment and it runs fine. I am just way to intimidated by this SERT, and don't want to screw up my bike in any way.

I really don't have anyone I know close by that knows the SERT well enough to help me, aside from taking it in for a true Dyno tune. I haven't changed any of the AFR's yet, but have had a few guys in the tech forum tell me how. Just a little too nerve racking for me.

Don't get over excited about the auto-tune systems, they are not all they are cracked up to be. They do make adjustments to the basemap installed, but who says that basemap is what your bike needs.

The only way the auto tune system works well is when you put the bike on a dyno and have the base map made for your exact setup and bike. Then the system will constantly make adjustments to make things right.

The SERT is useless to anyone else, so you might as well keep it and use it.

When I first bought my bike I did like most people and bought pipes and air cleaner and new sert from dealer right away and had a can make I believe installed(Im still not sure because I cant pull map off of sert). Drove my bike 1000 miles before dyno tune, but just didnt feel comfortable with dealers tuning ability with sest so went to indy and did pcIII and had them dyno tune it. Probably a good thing since now my dealer sells tts mastertune instead of sest, parts guy first told me that it was because the sest was always on back order, then he said plus the tech likes to tune the tts better. So go figure, now I have this piece married to my bike. But who know if i ever find someone I think can tune it I will switch back over.
