Thanks again for the replies. I'm learning from you guys.
I prefer the dual look but from what I read even the true duals can't do what a 2into1 can do so I'm willing to sacrifice looks for the torque. I have a plan to add the Ness big bags later on when I go to paint and chrome and I can modify the left bag to leave out the cutout for the missing pipe.
Let me add that I am a Grandpa who wants to see his baby grow up. I'm 55 and my bike has never seen over 95 mph (well, maybe 100.) What I am looking for is the power to get past a semi doing 75 mph and do it quickly.
I just did an upgrade on my 06 ultra. I did the SE refueler box, SE air filter upgrade, SE two into one pro pipes. Very happy with the sound and performance. I described it as "volume under control," just enough sound to get you noticed going down the highway and during acceleration, but NOT annoying to the passenger at all. Can't see it in this picuture, but after the duals came off, I added a chrome belt cover to the opposite side of the bike under the left saddlebag. That spruced it up over there and it doesn't look like I just pulled of the duals from that side. Almost forgot, NO HEAT on the passengers right foot anymore. The old crossover put off a trememdous amount of heat. The new pipes fixed that too.

Ride safe.
You are absolutely correct about the 2 into 1's. And I have yet to see a set of exhaust pipes that YOU CAN SEE while riding your bike. Torque rules in the world of HD.
Besides, I get asked about my pipes all the time because..........
its different
its got a great sound at idle
its not obnoxiously loud
Everything I READ or HEAR says the 2 into1 produces much more power over the true duals. But my butt tells me different. Before I went to the BB I always thought my bike had plenty of power with the V&H headers and SE pipes. Now that I've done the BB and Andrews 26G gear driven cams, well, frankly I don't think it matters much about the pipes as my bike will now pass any car, truck or other mortorized vehicle on the road with out complaint or downshift. Now I'm NOT talking about racing just everyday driving which is what I do. Once I reach 35 MPH in 5th gear I rarely need to downshift. There is a steep mountain pass here in VIrginia that I cross over regularly. Used to use 4th gear and 3rd on occassion. When I told a friend recently that I crossed the pass completely in 5th gear he quickly questioned that that was possible, but it did and quite easily I might add. Plus, I find it hard to belive that pipes are going to produce 12-15 HP (thats what I hear most often). My BB and cams made only 17 extra horses and 23 torque. And if I told what the gas milage jumed to since the BB and cams I am certain to be called a liar, so I want.
Gary
Good post Gary, some get too wrapped up in the touted boost in performance with 2 into 1's. Most of us are into real world performance and are not looking to turn a bagger into a dragster. A well tuned bike with duals will yield excellent performance. What am I sacrificing with duals, absolutely nothing. Just comes down to whatever pipes you like, simple as that! I know I would not switch to any other pipe on the market, I really like what I got.

harris48cars, sounds like you've got a good combination (that's the exact combo I've thought about for myself) but the info on the exhaust may not apply to 05FLHTI as he hasn't mentioned going larger on the size of his engine.
