Ok... so with the Ca. Cat in the Header Pipe no Decel popping
With 49 state no cat. in the head pipe I get some downhill decel popping..
Any where I should start looking for trouble or just normal..
I have Slip on's Reinharts , Stage 1 Harley down load and air SE Air Cleaner kit
I drive with a lot of Hogs and I can't remember hearing one that "DID NOT" back fire upon deceleration to some degree. Easy test would be remove your spark plugs and check for the color to see how your engine is running. Click here ------> http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/maint...sparkplugs.htm
Decel popping is carbon monoxide (CO) in the exhaust burning when it hits the air. if you have cat converter/s the CO is oxidised (burnt) in the cat and therefore doesnt pop.
too fat on the small end,ex. temp is over the igniting temp of gas, every cam has a little reversion,(dumping raw fuel into the pipes, use a powercommerder,or what ever to bring the ex temp. down on the first couple set of cells, lean out.(get temp to about 850,fuel ingnites at 1150)

Your motor is very lean even with the nearly ineffective "Stage 1" download. Dyno time may be needed here (that's what I'd do). That decel pop is curable with a good tuning device and a capable tech. My hotrod 95" motor has no decel pop and gets 47-49 mpg regularly.
