Buddy calls me this afternoon at about 12:30 and says..Can you give me the phone number to Tilley HD in Statesville NC and to the shop in Greensboro...I says, WHY? he says , i need a tire for my Goldwing, it's down to the cord and i am not sure i can make it home...Well i said if you need me to go get you call me...He called me back about 30 minutes later...Well Tilleys had a tire but nobody in the shop...He asks can i come and meet him ....I went of course, 2 hour drive to Burlington...Loaded the GW in the trailer...As much as they rag me about HD in trailers and i had a GW in mine....I made him take a picture of it with his camera and promise to send me a copy...He was quiet about the GW on a trailer all the way home...You know i won't rag him to bad because he would come and get me if i needed Him to...Don't have a picture yet by the way...Shame, Shame, Shame... Had to share this with all of you...
I thought the Goldwings had a display on the multifinction heads up display that told you when the tire needed replacing? Did he just ignore it or was his latte machine in the way? BTW, post that pic on every forum you can find !!!
PS I'd have picked up my bud too but I don't have any that ride old wings
I've had to haul my buddies Kawasaki in twice(flat tire both times)but I aint gonna rag him any cause with all the electronics on the new bikes mine might have trouble that duct tape and vise grips won't fix.
Yep, funny. But I would travel half way across the country to help a friend. Heck with half-way, I would go completely across the country if need be.
Same here, my best buddy rides a GL1800 we ride together all the time. He will bust my ***** when he hears a Harley with loud pipes keeps saying you need to get a set of those" then I see a Gold wing all blinged out and tell him he needs to do that to his GL1800 with all the lights. And it never fails every time we are riding there is a bike on the side of the road and it is a HD now it may not be broke down but just the fact that it is on the side of the road he yells at me " You going to help your buddy". Then that day came that I have been waiting for. We were on our Glacier trip this year and the shop had wired his hitch and didn't tighten up the wire to the battery so it was loose. When we stopped for gas his bike would not start so we started looking for the problem it took about 20 min until we traced it back to the wire and fixed the issue. I wanted to take a pic so bad but just couldn't bring myself to do it. We joke all the time about each others bikes but wouldn't have it any other way. Ride safe
I got a lot of razz from my buddy that rides a GW, when I bought the Harley. He tells me I have to ride in the back so he can hear the stereo . As of yet he hasn't left me in the dust. I traveled 600 miles 2 weeks ago to ride with Bob and his GW. Bob has multiple myloma cancer and it appears that he doesn't have many ridin' days left down here. So when he calls I am on the way to AZ for a few miles with Bob and his GW.
I laughed a bit with him of course. The main thing is he and his Girl were safe and sound. He said when he took the pictures...This is gonna hit all the HD forums before nightfalls right...I said you damn skippy bud...what are friends for....I the picture with the Explorer in the background i am pointing to the HD window sticker....Little salt in the wound...LOL...He said ,,, You know this just ain't right...
