Default Hey Four Eyes!

Now that I got your attention, can I PLEASE be a member of your team!

I just found out that I need glasses... at the young age of 44!

Accordingly, I want to ask all my bespectacled brothers and sisters your opinions on riding glasses. The only brand of riding glasses that I am familiar with are the Wiley X's. I have them for my riding glasses, but without any Rx conversion. I don't know if they or Panoptx make prescription lenses for their frames so I thought I'd ask.

Any other suggestions or brands would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help

P.S.

If I said anything that offended anyone, I blame them on my new-found inability to see my keyboard.

It might be helpful to tell us if you're nearsighted or farsighted (or both!). Lots of options, but some types of prescriptions can't be put into frames with much wrap.

Thank you KopperTop for asking. I do know that I now have to read things at a distance of about 12 - 18 inches. Prior to my "needs", I was able to focus on things as close to 6 inches away from my mug. Don't know if this is near or far sightedness?? Sorry for being so vague.

You probably just need reading glasses. $18 for a 3 pack at Costco.

Sounds like you are far sighted, don't think reading glasses would do you any good.
I just ware my regular glasses,and use a pair of sunglasses over them like cacoons, and you can get a cheep pair from walmart called over casts, they are made for fishing (polorized) but they work, my cacoons got scratched so I got a set from walmert, then I broke one of the bows (part that goes to your ear) and replaced them with the ones from the cacoons, they are big enough that they kind of make the wind flow around your head, I love them.;

Clint isn't an optomotrist, but he plays one on TV. And he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I've been wearing glasses since the 4th grade. Started riding mini-bikes about the same age. I've always worn my regular glasses when riding.
Only had one pair that I had any issues with. At the time I had a naked sport bike (no windshield) my eyes would water at high speeds. I also found out that if I turned my head to look behind me the wind would rip them off my face. The lenses on those glasses were larger (height and width) than others I've had. Also they didn't fit as close to my face.
