Default No radio

My EG standard is a work in progress, my blank slate. Adding the stuff I want to make it truly mine. I dont want a radio, half the time I ride to get away from the world for a bit. Is there no one that makes a plate or door for the radio hole. I have searched on e-bay and the internet with no luck. Any Ideas other than designing my own. If I leave stuff in there it slides out on acceleration. Trying to grab the garage door opener on the weekend just about cost me my life!

Thanks in advance. Later, Claire.

An after market radio will bolt to the inner frame of your eg with bolts and spacers. To trim the edge of the radio, you can use abs plastic, 1/8 inch aluminum, or stainless steel depending on the look you want. Zook.

Well, I don't have an answer for the cover. I just want to applaude a brother who loves to ride and listen to the music of the road.

If I run across a cover for you, will send you a PM or something.
Ride Safe. Gotta love it.

In the meantime use a little velcro to hold the opener in place.

I don't know of anyone that makes a cover. If you want to still use the space, Harley makes a bag that fits in there with a velcro or zippered flap. I'm not sure which, I've never had one, just seen them. If you don't care about the space, I'd get a piece of diamond plate aluminum and make one.

Been thinking of the diamond plate. How would you smoth the edges, just sand paper?

I'd say you would have the best luck with a dremel tool. Probably both for cutting it out, and for smoothing the edges. If you don't have one and don't want to spring for the high dollar one, there is a store around here (VA) called Harbor Freight. The sell a really good one for about 30 bucks. I'm not sure if you have one in your area. If not, you'd really be surprised how much you'll use one. I held off on buying one for a long time, then broke down and bought the cordless one. I think I use it about as much as I do a wrench now. Another idea might be to get an extra garage door opener, if you don't already have one. Then cut a finger sized hole in the cover, and attach the opener to the back side of the cover. No more chasing it around. For easier access to it, you could make 4 "L" brackets, fasten them to the existing box, then screw the cover on to them. That'd make for an easy install/removal process.
