Default plastic scratch removal

Or at least try to.

What is a good product to use to try and polish out scratches from a clearview shield.
Thanks for any help

Novus. http://www.novuspolish.com/

It probably depends on how deep the scratch is.

Novus Plastic polish is very nice stuff, especially if you've got access to a power buffer.

I have a nephew who has a few scratches on his SG wind shield from installation asked me the same thing. I thought, (but have never tried it), that maybe those polishing kits for head light lenses might be worth a shot...

Novus is great stuff. Only use the #3 if the scratches are really deep though.

Novus is NOT to be used on Lexan/Polycarbonate.

"Novus #3 has a higher abrasive solution for removing or reducing the toughest scratches on acrylic plastics. It must be followed with Novus #2 to restore the best luster. May be used on convertible windows as well. Not for use on Lexan polycarbonate."

Most shields are polycarb.

Don't use that on polycarb shields.

I have a Lexan windshield and Novus works great. I only use #2 to take the light scratches out. Unfortunately, Lexan is softer than acyclic (the best W/S material) so I have to use it every few rides. It does a good job keeping it clear and scratch free. I'll make sure I get an acrylic one next time!

I've used Maguiars PlastX on a Memphis Shades windshield in the past and it worked fairly well, easy to find at walmart or automotive store.

Since a Clearview shield is what the OP is trying to repair and Clearview SELLS Novus products with their shields on their website I'd say he'd be safe using it.

If they're shallow, lemon pledge will do wonders(I'm not joking!)

I used it on the windows of my soft top Jeep for years!

It makes them look new!

Now I use it on my Harley with excellent results.

Their are a few other threads about it
