couple possibilities.
Behind the primary on the tranny is a vent tube (at least 01-06). Could be pressuring / foaming and leaking from there, or tube is damaged or missing, and leaking from the fitting.
also the main shaft seal on tranny could be leaking or the seal in the primary (two- one starter, one main shaft).
Guess you need to put bike on lift and look from underneath!
There are a couple others, but very doubtful, like a crack in a case.

Same thing happened to me last month. More of a slow seep than a leak because it only left a drop on the flor once, but it did tend to blow back on everything behind it. Waited for some cold weather and took it in for repair under the extended warranty. $50.00 later the leak is gone. Couldn't have fixed it myself for that!
