I have had my oil light come before starting my 2006 roadking for as long as i can remmeber. I think the book, where ever that is says it is supposed to??? My friend has a 2009 and his does not come on before starting it(oil light)? When my bike is running no oil light is on. Is this one of the new changes or is there something i need to look at my bike?
Hopefully easy answer here, or to many beers in me and thinking...............
I have a 2008 RK and prior to starting up, my oil light is on as well. After starting the oil light goes out. I was told that this is how it should be. Every other HD that I have seen does the same. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
That being said, I don't know why your friends 09 oil light does not light up. Maybe there have been some changes in the 09 electronics to not have it lit, or maybe he or she needs to have their bike looked into.
