No idea what your looking at, but HK Harley units were never made in China.

I am looking at the non HD radio that I referred to. HK has closed their manufacturing in the US and UK in favor of Mexico and China based subs and soon to be India. Also they do not own any of their manufacturing plants anywhere in the world , all subcontractors. The CEO is also thinking of stopping US development of their products in favor of Chinese and India development , he says it would be more efficient. Don't believe me or anyone else check it out for yourself, I did.

Check your facts. HK owns manufacturing facilities in the US, Germany, Hungry, Mexico, China, the UK, and a number of other countries. Their manufacturing is not farmed out. Of course they are opening facilities in Asia. They have a huge contract with Hundai (those units are currently built in Germany) an ongoing contract with Lexus, and a new contract with Toyota.

You are correct, their CEO is from India. The first thing he did was to move the Corporate HQ from Washington DC to..... Stamford CT. When the Northridge facility closed, all the jobs were shifted to Woodbury NY and Washinton MO.

As far as checking it out for myself, I worked for them up until 2008...I'm now with Panasonic. Still have alot of friends their so i think my info is pretty solid.

Well I'm on my third radio. The last two were refurbed units.
I left a Hendrix cd in the last radio and wrote it off.To my surprise the SW called my to come pick up my cd!
The cd was sent from United Radio,Automotive Division East Syracuse,N.Y.
Is this Harmon Kardon or just a repair company?

My research is has given me different facts than you. Hope you're right for your friend's futures with HK in the US.
