Default finding out key number

I bought a bike that the seller did not have the factory key or number. Is there anyway to find out the number and get a "factory" key made. Thanks in advance Be Safe JIM

I am pretty sure a dealer can order one using the VIN number.

Pull the black plastic cover off the key you have, and you'll find the number stamped on the key.
Hope this helps

Bring the registration into a dealer to prove you own it and they will run your VIN to get your key code. You have to buy 2 keys at a time so it will cost you about $23 and a week-long wait.

Just an update to this thread. I ordered a set today and it was $39.00. from the dealer for a set of 2 keys without the FOB. They said 30 days is what the factory claims, but should arrive in 10.

Just for any others reading, as someone posted above, the key number is also on the key under the plastic.

If I pull the plastic off further the key # is exposed.
