Question MP3's in CD Player

I have been reading the threads about copying music to the MP3 format. My question is: What year did HD start putting CD players in that would play the MP3 format. I read my owners manual and it doesn't say, I also tried a sample disc I made using WMP, and the music won't play. I guess my 2005 Ultra does not have the correct CD player in the stereo. Can someone shed any light on this?

Yup, 2006. At least 150 songs on one cd.

That is pretty much, what I thought, when the CD wouldn't play. Glad I only spent the time burning a couple of songs, not 150 or so..LOL..Wonder what it would cost me to upgrade to a stereo that would play MP3's/

I might add that MP3 is the only format they'll play. Not WMA or others.

Maybe I'm not understanding what radio you are referring to.
If you're speaking of the 06 and up bikes, that is not true.
My 07 plays both.

Ok, pretty much screwed as far as playing MP3's in my stereo, so. How do you hook a
iPod or similar device up to the stereo to play? Mine has an accessory jack. I see wally world has some 4GB MP3 players pretty cheap.

Get a double ended headphone jack, plug in and use aux to play ipod. Your controlls will only work from ipod. I hit suffle and let it play. Cord is like $4.
