I know the general consensus with this pipe, but I'd like to know if anybody ever bought one and hated it? Ben, you don't count....LOL!

If so, what about it didn't you like? If you like yours, tell me why please.

Lastly, did any of you go with the Ghost Pipe? Regrets?

They are costly, so I wanna get this right beforehand. I'm thinking Quiet Baffle. What say you?
Thanks

I ran one with the quiet baffle for a couple of years....great fit and finish and performance....just a little louder than I like for long distance cruising and long days in the saddle

I recently changed to a SuperTrapp 2:1 and absolutely love it....new build made great numbers and the noise at cruise is much lower....now just a deep rumble

As has been mentioned before, fit and finish are great. I'm running it (quiet baffle) on my 105"BB and love the sound. From the posts here, it's typically a love it or hate it sound. I don't know how to describe how it idles, but just different. My brother rode behind me for a while and said it was a nice deep sound. He had also ridden behind me with the V&H Big Shot duals and said the Fat Cat was much more pleasing to listen to. I agree with that as well from the rider's seat.

I opted not to get the ghost pipe. I figure if it is as heavy as the real one, I don't want that extra weight dragging me down...

The only thing I don't like about it is the rear cylinder head pipe. It exits the head and goes toward the front of the bike. The forward most part of the pipe sticks out from the side of the bike more than I like, especially when coming from a set of true duals. If I'm not careful at a stop, my pants leg will touch it and burn the hell out of my leg when I put my foot back on the board. That's about the only thing I would change. Maybe tuck that pipe closer to the bike.

One more thing, the quiet baffle with your build will probably be pretty loud. If your static comp is really 10:1 and you are using the 255's, your cylinder pressure is up there (according to your other posts). I noticed that when running the Andrews 26's with the stock setup that the sound was a bit louder than with the stock cam. The new build with the 54's bleed a little of that pressure off and have quieted the pipe a bit. Just so you know...

Thanks Matrix. Very insightful. I did a CCP test which resulted in CCP of 207-210. Your experience is saying this will make for a louder tone?

I would suggest hearing one in person before you buy one. No doubt that the fit and finish of their pipes are top notch. I just don't care for the D&D sound. I was going to purchase the BOSS for my 09 until I heard one....to each his own though

Love the sound, hate the volume

Love the pipe, its clean..fit and finish is top notch. I did the ghost as well..still hate the volume

I invested in a pair of big ear ear plugs for me and the wife, makes highways much more tolerable and reduces fatigue much better now!

You and I have back and forth with this Fat Cat exhaust. I wanted to tell you that another reason I love it was the heat aspect of it. Being short legged the Reinharts stuck out alittle on the left side and was always a problem at a light as I sat there with them hitting the back of my leg. Obviously that goes away with the Fat Cat. Like I told you I run the loudest of their baffles and find that at highway speed it at least for me anyway is not that loud. I love the way it backs down between shifts and also the way it sounds as I down shift. I couldn't say anything bad about them. The ghost pipe on the other hand is a love it or leave it thing. We all have visual preferences for our bikes. If you like the dual exhaust look then it's a done deal. Fake or not. Chalk it up to another chrome cover that has no function then to make you smile because it looks good.............Do I need to say more???

D&D is a great product , exhaust tone is an objective thing only you can make that call!
