According to the author K has been used to designate: K: More powerful K model (ex. 1955 K11K)

Building one likely combination from this,

F would stand for Overhead Valve (pretty sure this is right)
L would stand for higher compression engine - although I've always thought this was 16" front wheel with Hydraglide front end
H would stand for larger engine
T would stand for touring
(or HT for Highway Touring)
K would stand for more powerful engine
What the heck were they thinking (or smoking) when they devised the Harley Alphabet?

I agree with the previous post "K" means more $$$. If you ask me, H-D is just tossing out bikes to fill the void until the H2O bikes hit the market. New frame to house a different motor, and a radiator. Hmm, ehh, Yeah??
Don't think so...

So an FLSUX would mean what?
I have one in the garage that I've never been able to start.
