A question we'd all like the answer too. FLHT Klimited? I guess their running out of letters or just don't care anymore.
I agree with the previous post "K" means more $$$. If you ask me, H-D is just tossing out bikes to fill the void until the H2O bikes hit the market. New frame to house a different motor, and a radiator. Hmm, ehh, Yeah??
From one of the local dealer's website:
WHAT DO THE LETTERS MEAN?
Here is a quick overview .
The F stands for the Big Bike with the Big Engine, so you know that all models that begin with F have the big motors, 80 to 110 cubic inches or 1340 to 1800 CCs. The L stands for a big fat front tire. The next letter(s) denotes the frame
D indicates a Dyna frame (with rubber mounted motor) ST signifies a SoftailŽ frame HT is used for the Highway Touring frame FXD would be a big engine Dyna frame with a skinny tire The next letter(s) indicates the model bike within the frame family
F would signify Fat BoyŽ WG denotes Wide GlideŽ, etc. So an FLSTF would be a big engine, fat front tire, Softail frame, Fat Boy model. A FXDWG would be a big engined, skinny front tire, Dyna frame, Wide Glide model. And an FLHTCUI is a big engine, fat front tire, highway touring, Ultra ClassicŽ model with fuel injection (the I on the end signifies Fuel Injection).
All the models that begin with an X are SportsterŽ Motorcycles. Sportster models have 883 or 1200 CC's
The VRSC means it is a V-ROD. The V-RODŽ models have 1130 or 1250 CC's
So the K would just stand for the Limited model of the big motor, fat tired, highway touring motorcycle.
