My 2006 street glide has been a wonderful bike other than i have replace the computer. Its got almost 20k on it since i bought it new a little over a year ago.
As of the last 10k or so the bike has be vibrating bad at idle but clears up when its moving. I have had the motor mounts replace due to a torn rear mount, also tried a pcIII to see if the motor was running rough. I can't seem to get any help from the local harley dealer on this matter. They actually pissed me off when i took the bike in because it was running rough, they couldn't fix it, and when i picked up the bike from them it was running on one cylinder and had a scratch on the rear fender (was black so i painted it HOC vibrance metallic)and they took off my billet intenna. I wass beyond mad, So i took it to another dealer over 2 hours away to have them look at it and they replace the computer. It ran again but still shakes worse that it did when i got it.
I had a vib issue also on my 03 EGC. First, I replaced fairing brackets (4) were broken. Shortly after I spent $400.00+ dollars at the stealer to do that, I had another broken fairing bracket. Well, after I had repaired my brackets myself, I figured there had to be a reason why the brackets were breaking. I found that my stock motor mount was tore. I replaced it with the stock 03 mount (79B). After installing, I had a great idle....smooth as hell. But, when I throttled up to about 1500 RPM, I had a bad vib...shook the mirrors so you couldn't see at all. I then changed the stock 03 mount with an 06 mount (79D). This mount worked much better but, I was still not happy. Mount number 3 was the Velva-ride.....that was better. After months of the Velva-ride, I was still getting some vib as I would get down to lower RPM's. Well, I found a thread on this site reffering to a 'Glide-pro' mount. Yesterday, I got my new Glide-pro front mount and installed it right away. I rode to work this morning (23miles) and was pretty pleased with the way it felt. No vib at idle (mirrors don't move) and smooth acceleration/deceleration. Just my 2 cents worth.
