Every since seeing a Black Denim 2010 Road Glide I keep thinking I would like mine to be that color. I have a Red Hot Sunglo 09 and like the color and opted to not go with Vivid Black for a change as many of my bikes in the past were Vivid Black. If Denim were an option in 09 I think I would have looked for one but it wasnt so here I am wanting. Question is what should I expect to pay to have the bike stripped, painted and re-assembled? Anyone done that with a Road Glide. I am in NH and have dropped the bike off yesterday for Winter Storage at the dealership because it was such a great deal. Virtually free after the cost of the free service they provide. I don't want any custom graphics/stripes etc just the black denim paint. If anyone has done that or is familiar with the costs associated I would appreciate it. I did ask the dealer to get me a quote but want a comparison.
Where in NH? I'd suggest talking to Dale Flewelling at Art Attack Designs in Newport, NH. He did all my painting and he does awesome work. I'd also consider keeping/swapping your parts or trading them.
A guesstimate would be $1500-$2000. With some time, an HD Service Manual, and decent set of mechanics tools, you could comfortably disassemble and reassemble the bike yourself.
Also, consider: (1) having the rivets removed from the front fender (about $100) or replacing it with a 2010 CVO Street Glide fender or aftermarket fender; (2) painting the inner fairing and cap; (3) adding the Street Glide/FLTR Custom rear fender fascia/LED; and, (4) replacing the chrome saddlebag latches with color-matched latches.
Good luck with your project.
Edit: My repaint cost about $1,300 (approx. $450 was paint, reducer, etc.) with tri-coat, PPG DBC paint, two tour paks, inner fairing, fairing lowers, bag latches, and some other small parts in addition to a normal EG parts.

I'm VERY interested in this thread. I have an 07 RG Orange, that I'm looking changing over to a Black Cheery or something. like that. Is it regular auto paint that's used? Any comments on the new paint being less durable than the original ? Not looking at any fancy graphics, just painting it a darker color, (something like the black cherry I've seen on some. Any comments/opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks
Subscribing as well because i would love to have my Darl Blue Pearl painted a White Pearl. Would love the frame painted as well but not sure I would be comfortable stripping everything off the frame.
