I see they offer the compact Heavy Breather for those looking to put it on the lowers.
Has anybody put it on yet?
What are the specs? I'm sure it's shorter but by how much?
If it's on a bike can you post a pic.
I have one on the way, supposed to be here Wednesday. I just put vented lowers on my RG and had the regular heavy breather on. Looks like it needs to be about an inch and a half shorter. I'll know on Wed.
Couldn't you have just got a shorter filter element? K&N has a lot of generic ones to choose from. Did they change the snorkel on the compact SE version?
A shorter element will probably reduce air flow by the way.
Could, but as long as the total surface area is similar it should not be a problem. Keep in mind most aftermarket filters have the ability to flow more than our engines need. There was a test on this done by one of the mags a couple of years ago. I can't remember which one though.
Here is a helpful link to finding custom filters. Just calculate how much surface area you want and start looking.
Yes you could try for a shorter bigger diameter one but then we start the will it hit my leg thing. Plus I would have thought if it was easier and cheaper to use a different filter HD probably would have gone that route rather than produce 2 different AC units.
I have the compact heavy breather because of my lowers with glove boxes. When I tried to put it on, it did not fit,the intake tube is still too long. Anyone else have the same issue?
