I drove past the motorcycle cop training range the other day and they inspired me to use the winter months to practice my turning, close order maneuvering, panic stopping, etc.
I would like to protect the crash bars on my RK against the inevitable drops.
My first thought was to clamp some split some automotive heater hose on the bars.
I would be interested what you have used to protect the crash bars while practicing.
I seem to remember him suggesting Garden Hose cut length wise so you can slid it over the bars or the foam insulation made for pipes before he started selling his own version.

If you are practicing the "ride like a pro" type of stuff you could use some clear tubing from home depot or lowes split/cut lengthwise.
Hold clear tubing with zip ties..
The bottom outside corner is the commonly rubbed part of engine guard.
