Why No fit?
I recently put hard bags on my RKC and I bought a set of used nostalgic saddlebag guard rails that are for hard painted saddle bags. They are the right part number and these just will not line up straight with the bottom of the bags. I know they are for models that come with hard painted bags..RK standards, RG's, SG's, Ultra's, etc. but why don't they fit? I thought all the touring frames were basically the same so I am at a loss. Is there something a bit different about the RK Classics as it was a bit difficult to get the holes lined up for the pins on the new hard bags but I finally got that right.

You're talking about these? What isn't lining up? Do they bolt up fine? The only difference in the two, from leather to hard, is the rails should be different at the back-outside corner since the hard bags are shaped different back there. Are you sure on the part #'s? They did change a bit on the 09-10's from the earlier models.

I bought a set of brand new ones and you have to mess with them to get them to fit the front rail and line up properly. I wound up grinding down the mating faces of the clamps and loosening the whole back part of the motorcyle to get them to line up. It was kind of a pain considering they were brand new HD accessory parts.
