badlander fitment

i bought a used badlander for my road king. it is supposed to fit 97-07.when i put it on my bike everything lines up and fits good except the front.it sits up on my console and i actually sit higher instead of lower.anyone else had this problem? i dont know if it may for different year models or what any ideas?

it sounds like you have a seat for an ultra or a tourglide.

Part # or picture would help, but I think hawg50 has it correct. The Electra Glides have a shorter fuel tank console and the seat rides up over the bottom of the tank to meet the shorter console. RK console should come to near the bottom of the fuel tank. Sounds like you have EGlide version.

the front of my seat goes up onto the tank a little, but it doesn't push me forward

Seats for Road Kings and Streetglides of that era are shorter up front. It's the longer tank "console" that's different than R.G.s, Classics, and Ultras. You must have a seat for one of those.
