Default Ultra Radio

Has anyone installed an Ultra radio with CB (part no. 76350-04a) in a EG Standard?

Yes. Did you have any more questions about it?

Yes, I have ordered the FLHTC/U audio Harness and the fuel tank console with headset. I don't have rear speakers or fairing switch. Any problems installing your radio, any advice?

I have an Ultra, but I know it has been done before and there was an article in a mag 2 years ago about it. It should all be straight foward. A couple things. I believe you are going to need that fairing switch if you want to use the headset. This is what turns the speakers off and the headset on. Also you will need the radio ant and if you plan to use the cb, you will need a cb ant.

When you installed the one in the EG Standard what extra parts did you need to order?

Like I said I have an Ultra so I have not installed one, just read about it. Take a look at the harness you already have and look for a section that will run off to the dash switch. If it is there then I would go ahead and order the switch also. Do you have a shop manual? I would recommend you buy one if you dont have one already. There is alot of useful info to you in there.

Sorry I missunderstood you I thought you had installed one. I don't have the harness yet it is ordered and I do have the service manual and the Electrical Manual is on order. Just looking ahead for the unknown from someone that has installed one before. I know I can do it I am just looking for the easy way out.

I guess I thought this was a simple question that someone has already done this before. I think I know what I need and I have all of it ordered, now just need to get the parts and install them. I work for General Motors Experimental Engineering as an automotive mechanic in the electrical department. Always looking for the easy way out.

It shouldnt be a big deal. Everything I have done to the bike that involved electrical has been as simple as it gets. Everything has been a plug in or cut the wire to length and install the terminals then plug into a connector. What were you going to use for speakers up front?
