Not sure of my 1/4 mile times.....but I do know its a leisurely
4 hour ride ( 210 miles ) to the Muddy River Smokehouse in Portsmouth, NH.
1 hour to eat, burp, and fart ......then its another 4 hours of
leisurely riding to get back home.
( could be done faster on the interstate, but why bother ?? )
I dont hit her in 1st, I am worried about the belt, so I short shift into second at 4000 and then hit her hard in second. 6250 is the limiter and I tagged it a few times.
With a hard 1st gear launch that 60 foot time could really plummet. Nearly as fast as my drivetrain life would plummet!!
Since then I have fitted a shift light and it makes avioding the limiter a peice of cake. I wish I just got the light instead of spending money on the speedo/tacho which is useless when you are riding hard.
As I said b4, cant wait to get back to the strip and get that 11....
The only thing smokin will be the rear tire, from 10lbs of Procharger boost and a few "extras"
Jamie sounds like Frank over at DragosBikeWorks has rubbed off on ya' LOL LOL I'm taking mine to him Sun. to get my Pro-Charger and a few other things installed.I'll be back up to see you soon to get mine tuned.I'm hoping to see 160hp this time.Kevin
I have a favorite 10th mile. One of the roads I ride a lot dead ends at a road with a hill when turning right. I take off turning right up the hill and I can hit 70 at the deer crossing sign which is 1/10 mile. 1/5 up hill and 1/5 level. Before my stage 1, I could only get 65.
Doc's Harley Davidson puts on a yearly motorcycle only event at WIR in Kaukauna, WI which I usually go to. Most mildly modified (AC, exhaust) baggers run in the 14's some up into the 15's and some big bore bikes are in the 13's. I did see a couple of big motor 117"/121" bikes in the high 12's. I ran my pretty much stock 08 Suzuki Hayabusa last year and won the Open Street class and could run consistent 9.50's. This year I am building a 09 Road King with a Procharger that should make 150 Hp and should run 11's when dialed in.
150 at the road wheel or at the flywheels?

Me and a coulple buds went to the all Harley Drags this passed summer, and for 10 bucks you could run as many times as you wanted. So I haven't been to the strip since the old days, so I said lets do it. My best was 14.1,and that was just rolling out of the lights no hole shot.Man did that bring back some great memories. Can't wait till next year.

So its not good on belt to hit it hard in 1st gear burn tire = Broken belt
Its interesting that my bike is quicker on the road than bikes that have much higher power numbers on the dyno. As I said I have a mate with a CVO springer that has a way higher power to weight ratio than the king (according to the dynojet) and yet I walk away from him on the road.
Personally I think measuring power with a dyno is a load of sheet, unless you use a EC997 and there arent any in Australia....
We see a lot of dyno charts on this site, not a lot of time slips. The strip is a great leveller. Its hard to lie about that....
