I have the adjustable, and I wouldn't change a thing. I love the ability to change my seating position.

Default back rest

I bought the basic one and had it one my bike for 1 ride it sucked pushed me so far forward it felt like I was on a crotch rocket so I posted on here asking for help and I got everything to mines great to put washers under it to heating the bracket and bending it, Tried all of these and never could get it to be comfortable, So I sold it and bought the adjustable one, Much better, Like some have said, You can change your riding position, I wish mine had a little higher back pad tho as I've had 4 lower back surgeries and on a long ride it irretates my lower back, But atleast I can go on a longer ride, with the other one 50 miles tops, Spend the extra money, You'll be happier, Whatch ebay there is some deals on there. You do not need a new seat to get a Mustang backrest. Get the bracket and backrest that fits your seat. I have one and it works great. Adjusts up and down and forward and back. I rode with one on my sg glide for a long time. Have now transfered it to my 2010 EGC.

So you can use a Mustang backrest w/ a Stock SG seat? I was going to look into that, so that would be great! I don't really like the HD ones

I have both and the fully adjustable one is great and I'm 24 with no back problems! (knock on wood)
