I did a set of HQ500 cams in my 96" last winter I already had a FatCat and a Big Sucker II and a SERT after the dyno guy got done with it, it puts out 90HP and 93 lbs of torque.
I can't see going for th extra 7 cubes and getting all the hard starting problems that come with it for another 5-10 lbs of torque and 5-10 less HP.
I'm putting in a 49T ring gear this winter and I'm going to be happy, it already hauls *** and after the gear change it will be perfect.
I probably will pull the heads down the road (2-3years) and have them ported and milled but I'm staying with the 96".
ahhhhhh what hard starting problems and yes well worth it i did my upgrades in real baby steps had the tw6 on my 96 at first and wasn't to impressed did the 103 and diff cam and ohhh yes alot more well worth it on the highway

That's funny because there are literally 100's of pages on this web sight talking about 103's starting hard after they are warmed up/hot, I guess all those people must be nuts.
2009 SG with a 96" for me it has Rush 1.75, SE A/C, SEST, and a Head Quarters 525 cam - the cam was installed by Granite Mountain HD in Conyers, GA. All the power I need for now. Trust me we always want more power, but I had to reach a cost benefit compromise this time.

"Those people" are getting hot starts from having too much compression.
Not from being a 103".
You can make any size motor have hot starts by going too high with the compression. You are supposed to build accordingly by choosing components correctly and using the appropriate head gasket and head chamber size for your cam.
Those that just slap parts together without paying strict attention to this, usually end up with issues.
Been doing the research for awhile and went down to the dealer and bit the bullet today. Went with the 103 and port/polish,255, high compression jugs and manual CRs. Thought if i'm going to do it lets go in and make it right. Asked him about the se compansator said not needed bike has 5k on it, thoughts on this ?
