Default Can heated gear use the accesory switch on an 09 Street glide

A new Gerbing heated liner is arriving tomorrow. Can the factory accesory switch be used to power it, if yes how would it be done?

Yes it can, however the best way is to wire directly to the battery. There is a 4 pin plug in front of the battery (on 2007 models at least). One of the pins is ground, and one of them is wired to the switch. The other 2 are used for a tourpak if you need them.

I also just wired mine to the battery. I've got the pigtail coming out in front of the seat. Works for me.

Your liner will come with a battery pigtail and an inline fuse. I recommend using it. I have mine wired so the connector comes out just in front of the seat. Oh and don't be a cheap *** and get the thermo controller with it, you will use it alot --way easier than unplugging and plugging back in or just using an on/off switch.

Same here.

Has anyone installed one of the permanent controllers into the fairing? That'd probably be a lot easier to use than fumbling with the controller hanging on a jacket.

The permanent mount has two separate dials to control the two zones, so I'd be interested to see how he mounted them.
