So my wife wanted me to be happy with our $20,000 purchase. In went a 103 kit, se-211 cams, tuner, and Rienhart slip ons. With the 1000 mile service another $2300.
Thats a wonderful wife you have. Better treat her good!
Back in Oct I purchased my first Harley, 2010 Road King in scarlet red/vivid black. After years on a Yamaha Midnight Warrior, my wife was just not comfortable on back for more than 50 miles. So looking at all the other offerings we bit the bullet and picked the RK. After 1000 miles, while in for service, I really missed the get up and go of the Yamaha. Very happy and hope I did the right thing.
Welcome to the world of Harley from Tennessee, I came over from Honda some years ago. Never regreted it! I was a sport biker, owned Sportster's and Dyna's. For my wife's comfort, I went to the touring model's. Good move on my part. Good luck to you and your's with your new bike
I was a first time Harley owner a couple of years ago when I bought a 2008 Road King. I love the bike and it opened up riding options that I didn't have with a sport bike. I might miss some power as well if I had not kept my sport bike, but when I want to feel the rush of speed or carve the corners, I jump on it, when I want to just enjoy the ride, I jump on my RKC and it has plenty of power for cruising.

To all, thanks for the warm welcome. We just had our first snow fall here in CT so the RK will stay in the garage for a while. I still have the 2004 Ducati 800 SS for a quick ride till the salt is off the road. As for the Wife, she hates wearing jewlery, lucky me I guess. Pics will be coming soon. .
