Correction...I was looking under the news tab which didnt list the SE Ultra for some reason....coool. I am wondering when the will get one I am first on the list.
I am happy with my 06. I can't wait to see what all the issues are with all of the new changes too.
I like this little change too:
Improved EFI: New 25-degree fuel injector nozzles offer better fuel atomization and spray targeting than the previous 8-degree injectors, and help reduce exhaust emissions and improve driveability.
I'm a little disappointed. I spent alot of cash upgrading my '06 Road Glide to the Stage II 95ci. Now to find out the 96ci comes stock w/ a bonus 6 speed tranny.
On the other hand the twin cam 88 is a proven motor. And rumor had it that MoCo would not honor warranty work on '07's with performance upgrades. Guess that is still to be seen.
Compared to the new '07 specs, I'm still very happy with my '06. It runs great as is, 3000 rpm and smooth as butter at 80mph with plenty more to go if I need it. Way comfortable on a 300+ mile day cruise. Decent gas milage with a Stage I kit. No EPA mod issues unless they ever go retro. If I ever upgrade the engine, price offset to the '07 MSRP keeps it in the ballpark. And as a first year model it will potentially be a collector's bike if you're into that (who wouldn't like to have the first year alumminum Fatboy with that cool yellow trim and what they are selling for now?)
All things are relative and every year you could say "If only I waited".
I'm gonna stick with the 06 for a year. I was one of the guys that just had to have a new Ford 6.0 diesel in 2003 and was the first on my block to have one. I was also the first on my block to go through the grief of a buyback with Ford after months of engine problems.... The 06 is paid for, I think I'll keep it for a year and see what kind of problems the new motor brings.
The olive green and black on the Classic, and the mirage orange on the Roadglide are both good looking color combinations though...
