I want to add the harley intercomm system to my 2009 road glide. It has the stock radio with the ptt bottons and such. What do I need to do to have a system like the ultra classic.
Get the intercom/speakers setup from HD and have the radio flashed. Go on h-d.com and it should say what is required under the description of the intercom system.
Unless yours is different than my 2010, check again. There isn't a PTT button on the left, while you have buttons, they are for radio volume, AUDIO + and -
You will have to add new controls, wiring harness for radio intercom, rear wiring harness for headset connection, new center console for driver headset, two headsets...not sure if you need CB module or not.
expensive to add.....if you go this route, might as well get chrome controls while you at it.

Buying the UC may be easier, but us "fuggly" owners are a little different.
sooo, are you trying to tell me ....You like the challange Good luck. When we ride with our modular helmets, we use the intercom....the rest of the time, we have no problem talking, and no shouting neccessary.
Add headphone-access music and rider-to-passenger communication to your Advanced Audio System-equipped Touring bike. The stock radio can be programmed to enable the integrated intercom mode that works flawlessly as you ride down the road, and the wiring kit allows the addition of front- and rear-communications ports to bikes without rear speaker pods or Tour-PakŽ luggage. Discrete tank and rear fender pods accept 7-pin plugs for rider and passenger headset that allow the rider and passenger to listen to infotainment programming without disturbing the neighbors. The rear port features a separate volume control, so rider and passenger can adjust the sound to comfortable levels. This kit enables high quality, high range, hassle free bike-to-bike communications with the purchase of Communication Kit P/N 76416-06C, Wiring Harness P/N 70169-06, and model specific CB Antenna. This will allow you and your passenger to talk to other riders, even when you are miles apart. Please see NOTE for addtional information.
This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.
77107-09
Fits '07-later Touring vehicles equipped with Advanced Audio Radio. Requires installation of Intercom System Flash P/N 76441-06/DT. Models equipped with Advanced Audio XMŽ Satellite Radio P/N 76404-06 and/or Advanced Audio Bike-to-Bike Communications Kit P/N 76416-06C should use Advanced Audio Intercom Add-On Kit P/N 77108-09.
after u add the cost for the harley system look at aftermarket, if your not using it for cb there are some good wireless systems for intercom.
I with you. OP why don't you look at something like Cardo Scala Rider Q2 Headsets. They are bluetooth(phone, nav) wireless and do intercom & bike to bike comm input for mp3. There's a set in classifieds right now.
