Coming from a genuine class act himself and an AWESOME contributor! Never ceases to amaze me how quick the members here are to chime in with some legitimate advice and the speed at which the responses are. Yes, a Thank You is in order and well deserved by so many.
I just wanted to post a "Thank you" for all the great information and help I have received on this forum since I joined this summer. I purchased my first HD, a 2009 Ultra Classic back in June, and have been reading and participating since then. I just did my clutch adjustment and oil change myself at 5k this weekend; everything went smooth mostly because of information I found on this site. Here are a couple of examples:
The Torx bolts on the derby cover are a T-27. A member here had posted that most sets skip that size and people that are unfamiliar would try to use a T-25 and then strip the bolt. I picked up a T-27; I wouldn't have known about it without that post.
Another post showed a video of a clutch adjustment; worked great. I May have been lost without it asI have never done my own MC maintenance.
In addition; I received a few great ideas for shops that have reasonable service rates here in the Las Vegas area; I will certainly use them in the future.
Thank you all again. I hope I can be of assistance to you all in the future.
many have fallen for the T27/T25 issue... I know this first hand....
