Default tail light modulator

I think my modulator crapped out on me. I noticed the turn signals, now running lights, looked mighty bright today. Investigated a little more and realized that the right side seemed to be stuck in brake mode and wouldn't blink when the blinkers were on. Left side seemed fine.

Is it common for these modulators to fail? Or do I maybe just have a dud?

it's not unheard that they fail and cause problems with the cruise control. Don't ask how I know.

My first modual lasted maybe 2 yrs. the second one is like half the size
of the first one and is now two years old. Added a new one to the 08
RKC. I dont think one can have too much light on any bike! Tenn.Vol.

I've got the Back-Off modulator on all three bikes. (Wig-Wag for the Ultra). Never had any problems with any of them. I have also installed the same modulators on several bikes for friends and none of them have had any issues.

I picked up another one today. If it fails, I'll be trying another make.

i took the leap and installed the bal last week, and bright *** light, it truly is. i am also using the hd module for using the turn signals with red lenses. too much light out back is almost enough to keep the ding dongs who are driving and texting off your tail. imagine what it'd cost to replace the bags, rear fender, etc. if someone rear ended you. the 200 bucks for the bal was worth every penny, although figuring out how to find all of the 23 available patterns for flashing is still a mystery for me.
