Before I bought mine I did alot of research. There were far more complaints about the HD backrest than the Mustang. I got the Mustang and have been very happy with it.

If I read correctly, the man ask for an opinion. My opinion stated, "I never thought it would be a good idea to adjust the backrest while riding down the road." That all it was guys. Lighten up, you might get a Hernia.

The non adjustable's worked for me,also had one on my '07 RKC.I've got short legs, think the back support does as much for my shoulders as it does for my back.

had a non-adjustable and it pushed me too far forward; not comfortable at all. adjustable works great for me and definitely worth the dollars, particularly for long rides.

I've had both, and definitely, without question, get the ADJUSTABLE! It's like adjusting the seat on your car, but it doesn't move very much, so there's nothing to it while, "riding down the road". I can adjust mine, and if you don't know exactly what I'm doing, you would have no idea. Get the adjustable. If you don't have the money for the adjustable, hold off until you do! It's like a night and day difference! Your back will appreciate it!

Ride safe!
I adjusted my seat in my pick-up in 1987 when I bought it and it hasn't been adjusted since. (different strokes ya know)

The adjustable is the best choice. It's still ALWAYS going to be better to have the option.

I like to be able to adjust mine while I'm riding long distance. Highway pegs and adjustable backrest let me change-up positions and help to keep me a lot more comfortable on the long haul when my butt cheeks start to go numb.

Bottom line is that adjusting your backrest on the fly is no big deal and anyone that is concerned about that should probably avoid other dangerous things like GPS, stereo controls, turn signals, biker wave, nose picking, text messages, etc.

Just my opinion of course!!

Definetly get an adjustable. I usally keep mine down all the way but have raised it on long rides. Seems to help with more support and comfort. Wife likes the storage pouch to keep her little things in.

I had the non-adjustable on the Road king and now have the adjustable on the Ultra. The adjustable is the better way to go, the non-adjustable seems to fit on a different angle, dependant on bike model and I could never get it right especially on a long ride. Had to bend the steel upright to get a good position, but after a while it would have been nice to adjust to a different position. The adjustable eliminates all of these problems.
