I used to work for a company that had the same policy. I fully understand what they were up against and they provided a vehicle if you were expected to go somewhere for the business. When we had off site meetings I would leave the company vehicle at home and ride to the meeting. They never once said anything to me about it but I was also traveling on my own dime. The stress relief of riding was worth more to me than the 55cents per mile. Did i mention I USED to work for them????

I hear the unemployment office does not care what you ride when you go to see them.

Sounds like it's time to call an employment lawyer. They can't tell you what you can and cannot drive on your own time.

Your on your own personal time to get there.I dont see how the company can dictate what mode of transportation to use.

Boys, if you think existing corporate "policy" is bad, just wait until we get government mandated heath care. Under Federal health care, we will be subject to their rules full time and prevented from doing anything that THEY might consider dangerous or unhealthy.....Just wait n see if you don't believe me.

.............Sounds to me like the original poster works for a company who has an exec that is anti scoot.....But perhaps that same exec also doesn't want his employees looking/acting like biker trash and that is his motive....It's hard for us here to really know because we can't observe the poster at work and we don't work there.

All that aside, me being me-I'd pull up in their parking lot wearing full leathers and a dewrag blasting my pipes and then park proudly on the sidewalk right outside their front door.

But that's just me.............

Sounds like a crappy place to work. My CEO loves the fact I ride. We even have designated motorcycle parking at work. I have even parked in the warehouse at night and during bad storms.

Couldn't agree more with that statement. Have them put in writing and furnish a copy to every motorcycle rights advocacy's you can find. Also send a copy to the higher-up politicians that ride so they know what's going on. Sorry, but the names of those gents escapes me. However, there are a few well know names of senators etc. that ride. That is BS on a HUGE scale. I concur with so many here. My time, my ride, your time, your ride. Make a big stink, but do it in a way that exposes them for the tools they are and not in a way that appears reactive on your part because a-holes like that will do what they can to make the defense of your rights somehow seem like a bad thing.
God forbid we choose our mode of transportation. We're such "baaaaad" people!
I hope this guy gets a miracle this Christmas by way of a killer new job offer so he can tell his current employer to **** off.
