Default No running lights

I went out this morning and started the bike and noticed that I didn't have any running lights. Not a good thing on a blacked out rear end. Brake lights and signals work but no running lights. Any ideas?

I don't have running lights on the back, are you sure you do? Mine are only on the front. I think they are all that way unless you buy the kit to change them.

Fuse on mine drove me crazy. My blew when my GPS plug fell apart (sort of) and was grounding our in the cig lighter plug. Was blowing the fuse that controled the running lights and I had no turn signals. But I couldn't figure out why? 500 miles from home and I was doing some serious troubleshooting.

Do you have turn signals?? If not check that fuse and remember...the cig lighter is also hooked into the same fuse.

Well I feel like a complete idiot now. Thanks for the help it was the 15a fuse. I just had my new rims installed and I'm pretty sure they worked before that. Well any way they are working now. Thanks again for everyone's help.

I had the same problem on my 09 EGC. Headed to Sturgis this year my running lights went off. Big problem when I was riding through PA in the pouring rain for 4 hours. I checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. I put in a new fuse and off I went. The next day it happened again. I checked the fuse and it was blown. I installed a new fuse and it blew. I stoped into a local HD shop and within 30 minutes they found the problem. The wiring harness from the front fender tip light needed to be replaced. I was out of there in 2 hours and never had another problem.

That's good info Flhrbill, thanks for that. I don't know of anything that would have blown the fuse, but I have done a lot of powder coating and it's been in and out of the shop getting accessories. I'll keep an eye on it.

I had a similar problem. My HD service department replaced fuse #6 15 amp (accessories) with a 20 amp fuse....no problems now. This fuse also controlled my brake and running lights. There could be too much accessories overloading that fuse.
