Just like to hear from anyone using SE251 cams in their bagger as far as set-up, results, and are you satisified with them. I'll be using them in 09 Ultra with 10.3CR(9.2 corrected) 103 flattops, BigBoyz 82cc heads and .030 head gaskets, dyno-tuned Jackpot slipons, PCV and SEAC. Thanks for any info from persons who have used these cams or are presently using them. Allyn
Read below for using the SE 251 cams(out of the SE Race parts book). They are not for your year bike. I plan on using the SE 259E in my build similar to yours, with 10.5:1 CR. They are almost identical to the SE251 in lift and duration and are the replacement for your year bike.
SE-251 CAM KIT*
This camshaft is a high lift version of the SE-211 camshaft.
As such, it works great with 103" and larger engines with free
flowing intake and exhaust. It can be used with stock heads
updated with race springs and high compression pistons to
get even more torque than a SE-211 cam or couple it with any
of the performance heads to realize the full power potential
of this cam. For race application only.

Fits ’99-’05 Dyna, ’00-’06 Softail and
’99-’06 Touring models
SE-259E Cam Kit – EFI*
Developed specifically for throttle body EFI systems, this
cam has a modern lobe design that allows for higher valve
lifts for a given duration. A high lift version of the SE-211
camshaft, this cam works great with 103" and larger engines
with free flowing intake and exhaust. It can be used with
stock heads (updated with race springs) and high compression
pistons for even more torque than a SE-211 cam, or can
be coupled with any of the performance heads to realize the
full power potential. This cam is used in the 103" Stage 3
Race Kit. For race application only.

Touring models
They will work just fine in an '09 , I have them in my '08 . I want more top end than they offer but almost everybody I ride with rides at those low rpms that most do, cruise at 2500 shift at 4000, I ride at about 3000 and shift at 5500 fairly consistently. These 251's run very well as intended and described. The difference between the 251 and 259e is not enough to worry about especially if you are getting a deal on the 251's.
I ride at 2800 and above and never use sixth gear under 75mph. I bought the cams brand new for $99 on ebay. I also bought a Wiseco/Cometic topend gasket set with .030mls head gaskets that included a cam chest gasket for $49 new also on ebay from Eastern Performance. I bought new SE103 flattop pistons from Chicago Harley delivered for $147. I have a set of cylinders from my Heritage that I will have bored and honed. I do my own labor so this will be a budget build bigbore with cams. Should be done in the near future but I'm in no hurry. Allyn
I really like the SE251 cams. I ended up with 99hp/102tq using HD cast FT pistons, stock heads and cometic .030" hg. I did need compression releases for some hot restarts. The 2009 may start better than my 07 did. The other 07 we did starts fine with the same set-up. If it was a 2007 I would be safe and recommend you put in compression releases. Can't comment on the 09 as I have no experience with that set-up in a 2009.
I built and tuned an 09 RG over the summer with 251's, stock heads, stock head gaskets, stock t/body, stock injectors, V&H new HO pro pipe. Made 99hp/109tq. Runs like a raped ape.
Just finished, today, a 10 RG, 251's, ported heads, 10.3:1 compression, the bigger 58MM injectors, Bassani Road Rage. Wont know for a while what it dyno's at though. Should be better than the previous.
