okay so far for the front fairing i am thinking the J&M 7.24 inch speakers with a amp. For the amp will probably go with the biketronics 180 watts per channel setup. Now will i have any problems with the stock head unit?

also if i do decide to go with either 6X9s in the bags or a sub i will probably need another amp right?

Most guys just use an alpine 4x150 in the bags. Upgrade to the 6.5 upfront and you will be ok. Look up some old post about putting speaker in the bags and there are some real good pics especially from Lynn. I ran mine with 2 arc audio mini amps, 1 in the fairing for the front speaker and 1 in the bags for the 6x9's. I ran it through the aux switch so I can turn the rear off when I want. If I ever ran across a real good deal I would switch to the alphine 4x150. Also I have had real good dealings with firecap.

could i get away with the stock radio, a Alpine PDX4.150 4x150 watts amp for the J&M 7.24 inch speakers in the fairing and a 6 x 9 in each bag?

maybe i will just pass on the sub.....

also only concern is one you put a whole in the saddle bag how is that for if you ever get stuck in the rain??? probably not good at all

like others have said you won't be able to hear the sub's rolling down the road -- if you are set on doing this and want to hear while rolling 4 channel amp (Alpine PDX150.4) upgrade the fairing speakers to a good set of 6.5's and two or four 6x9 two ways in the bags.

i know there are tons of post and have done lots of reading but looking for info from people that already have done this upgrade...

Here is what i am looking to do:

would like to Upgrade stock speakers, add a few tweeters, 8" subwoofer in saddle bag and a amp if needed not only for the woofer but also speakers in fairing..

any and all suggestions would help thanks.

Need to know what speakers for fairing, what amp would work, and subwoofer that would fit...

I have an 07 ultra and install the 7.25 inch J&m speakers in the dash and installed the hogtunes lower fairing setup which includes a 100 watt amp. What is cool about this amp is it has built in capacity for the fairing speakers. I then adjusted the amp to increase the gain on the lower +3db.

The system rocks, Is very load and lots of bass for what it is. I am considering adding the Hells Foundry Wolfpak kit for the tour pack which inclused a 8 inch sub and an amp and looks good. I doubt I could hear oit while driving but a stop signals and in the parking lot, it should really kick some %&!

Dr V Twin. Check the sticky out on the start of the touring threads about the 7.25 speakers. I think he is shipping them for $235. Not sure but I believe Dr V Twin chimmed in around page 35?
