The wife just got me the new Sirius Sportster 4 replay for my trip to Sturgis. I have the wiring down but I need a mounting bracket for the handle bars. I know I saw some posts about this before, but I couldn't find them. I am looking for something chrome if possible to mount the base unit to the handle bars andn then I can pop the raidio in and out whenever I need to. I know there is a 4 screw hole configuration on the back of the base to screw a mounting bracket into. the base gets hard wired so the radio itself can just be fitted into the base unit plug and play with a connector on the bottom of the radio. Now that I have you all confused????
I have this set up on my 05 Roadglide with a Ram mount and it works great for me, nice and compact. I'm not sure about the Sirius model you are talking about though.
Ram Mount is your solution. Go to www.rammount.com and browse through all of the solutions for motorcycles. Write down the part numbers (they only sell through their dealers) and contact one of the dealers for pricing. The dealer I've used was GPS City (www.gpscity.com) I have the Xact unit set-up on my handlebar.
Good luck.

Bonzo,
I just ordered my ram mounts and will be here tomorrow. One thing different is the picture shown has it mounted at the bottom of the bars. On my 06 I'll have to mount it on the rail coming up. I ordered the standard arm but now Im thinkning I might need the short one to keep it out of the way.
I worry about mine getting stolen when parked so I have the wires under the dash and a small strip of velcro on the dash and the back of the receiver. Works great and when I park and can stick it in my pocket or lock it in the bags.
My unit can be unscrewed and taken off fairly easily. I do that now, when I park.

My son works for Best Buy and he told me about a month ago to wait that Sirius was coming out with a new Plug & Play Sportster 4 which my wife just bought me. This comes witha docking cradle for the lack of a better term. All of the wiring comes off the docking cradle to the bike and then the radio has a port on the bottom of it that just plugs into the docking cradle. When your off the bike you just unplug the radio from the cradle and lock it up. The wiring and cradle stay on the bike. RAM has the new Sirius radio listed on it's web site but when you click on the adapter it comes up saying it is for the XM Roady or Delphi Ski something. So I have one of their venders checking to make sure I order the correct mount. The docking cradle gets mounted to the RAM unit and the radio slides in and out of that cradle.
Do you think someone is that stupid to steal a sattelite radio? Come on... They steal it you call cancel and let them know was stolen.... Someone has to PAY (defeats stealing) to reconnect they see the ESN and Bingo busted......
