I just got off the phone with Wild1... to do the TBW mod is actually quite simple BUT I need the unit and the controls {which I don't have right now}..
Wild1 told me to put the all the controls and grip and the TBW unit on the right. Take a scribe and mark the on the outside of the switch housing - pull everything off - measure the distance from the scribe and where the bar steps up from 1" to 1.25" - this will be the amount you cut off the end of the 1" part... it should be around 1/2" .... Then take the stock bars {Or use the measurements above} make the marks and use a dermal tool to make the cuts.. You can use the TBW unit to verify cuts..
This would all be easy for ME to do here IF I had the parts... I do NOT... So, these bars will have to be sold as is... IF YOU have a bike that needs the TBW = you will have to make the mods...
I am NOT being difficult here - I would love to make the mod and I would if I had the parts here for me to work with..
Thanks for posting those pics, you've got a great looking bike.
I've got the same bike, and my only complaint is I wish the handlebars had a little more pull back. The stock bars make me reach a little too far forward for my liking (I'm 6' tall).
I like the dimensions that are listed for the 517's, but they look like they might give too much of a 'wheel barrow' type feel. Do you find this to be true?
